GBN Community Meeting
Ort:
Mannheim
The next community meeting of the German Biobank Network (GBN) is taking place on 23 and 24 April in Mannheim. The Integrated Biobank Mannheim (IBM) is hosting the event and will present its structures, focal points and current developments. The Tissue Image Centre will also provide insights into its work.
As is customary at community meetings, the focus will be on presenting the location's respective biobank and regional research priorities. Another key topic will be the current planning status for establishing a ‘Biobank Platform for Germany’ – a project anchored in both the German government's coalition agreement and the High-Tech Agenda of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR).
Another important topic is tissue biobanking: the Tissue Working Group will present current topics and developments in this area. The NUM project COLOCATE will also be presented, with a particular focus on the interface between biobanking and data sustainability.
The community meeting is intended as a forum for exchange within the GBN. Accordingly, participation is limited and registrations from GBN biobanks will be given priority. External guests may participate if they have a relevant connection to the programme. In this case, please enquire at the GBN office (email: germanbiobanknetwork@charite.de; phone: +49 30 450 536 347).
