The IBM is the central biobank of the Mannheim Medical Faculty at Heidelberg University. It supports biomedical research by providing quality-assured and well-annotated biosamples and associated data. The aim is to sustainably promote research in the areas of early detection, diagnosis and therapy of diseases. The new status as a partner biobank strengthens IBM's role within the GBN and expands the opportunities for national and international collaboration.
