The Central Biobank of the University of Regensburg is a voluntary organisational association of quality-assured biobanks in Regensburg with the aim of a common organisation and common, harmonised procedures. It is sponsored by the University of Regensburg, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Regensburg and the University Hospital Regensburg.
Membership of the Central Biobank Regensburg is decided by the Board of Directors of the Central Biobank Regensburg on written application. The prerequisite is the existence or planning of a human biosample collection, the recognition of these rules of procedure and the implementation of the regulations and structure of the Central Biobank Regensburg.
This includes in particular the use of standardised declarations of consent, the use of standardised patient information, compliance with data protection regulations and adherence to the ethics and data protection concept, including the information and data processing processes defined therein.
