The Biobank Network of Ruhr-Universität Bochum (BioNet.RUB) is an operating unit of the RUB Faculty of Medicine, which has been in planning since 2018 and under construction since 2020. It represents a central IT structure with decentralised sample storage, through which the biomaterial collections of the RUB University Hospital are networked with each other. These decentralised biomaterial collections are spread across 13 clinic locations, which belong to 8 different clinic owners, and the institutes of the RUB Faculty of Medicine.
