Immunological analyses and immunotherapies are now well established in almost all medical disciplines, particularly in many areas of internal medicine such as oncology, rheumatology, infectious diseases and intensive care medicine, but also in many other specialities such as dermatology and neurology. Modern approaches such as monoclonal antibodies, immune checkpoint blockade, CAR-T cell therapy, bispecific antibodies, as well as new modalities such as in vivo CARs, adoptive cell therapies, or proximity-inducing drugs (proxy drugs) intervene in immune processes and highlight the need for reliable immunological reference systems for both development and clinical monitoring. Standardised measurement methods are therefore crucial for rapidly testing innovative therapies and strengthening the translational capabilities of university medicine.

The COVIM measurement platform offers a wide range of standardised immunological analyses for the comprehensive characterisation of the immune system. These include investigations of innate immunity, including humoral and cellular components such as cytokines, the complement system and granulocytes, as well as analyses of humoral immunity with a focus on B cells and antibody functions. In addition, the range of services includes assays for cellular immunity, in particular for the qualitative and quantitative characterisation of T-cells.

The range of analyses is complemented by immunogenetic methods for investigating genetic factors of the immune response, as well as analyses of immune metabolism, which capture metabolic adaptations of immune cells during immunological reactions.
