Become a COVIM laboratory

Laboratories at university hospitals may apply to participate in the NUM Platform for Immunity Research (COVIM). Selection is based on transparent, assay-specific criteria set out in a set of procedural rules. The evaluation and classification of laboratories is carried out by the scientific and technical coordination team in consultation with the Steering Committee.

During the first year of the project, clear and transparent criteria will be defined to assess the suitability of laboratories as COVIM laboratories. The criteria and the selection process will be drawn up by the scientific and technical coordination team (AP2), agreed with the Steering Committee and subsequently made publicly available.

Following a twelve-month run-in phase, an expansion to a total of 24 laboratories is planned from July 2027. Interested laboratories can actively apply to participate as a COVIM laboratory; at the same time, the coordination team (AP1+2) may specifically approach suitable laboratories and invite them to participate.
