The three-year transition process from DeRegCOVID (German COVID-19 autopsy registry) to NAREG (National Autopsy Registry) is now fully complete and NAREG is live!
The successful launch of the National Autopsy Registry on 1 March 2026 marks a key milestone for our network. The previous registry has been expanded beyond COVID-19 to cover five key research areas: infectious diseases, adverse drug reactions, cancer, sudden cardiac death and deaths in intensive care. The insights generated from these use cases aim to have a direct impact on our understanding of complex diseases and causes of death, as well as on clinical care
All participating centers can now begin entering their first new autopsy cases into NAREG. For assistance with data entry or any enquiries, support is available at support-nareg@ukaachen.de.
