The Institute for Digital Medicine and Clinical Data Sciences at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main is seeking to fill a position as a Research Assistant (m/f/d, E 13 TV-G-U, 70.00% part-time) available at the Institute for Digital Medicine and Clinical Data Sciences at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, to be filled as soon as possible and on a fixed-term contract until 31 December 2029.
The NUM Study Network (NUM SN) is establishing a Germany-wide infrastructure for rapid, multi-centre clinical trials, focusing on common standards for the initiation of clinical and clinical-epidemiological trials, processes for project and process management, and contracts, all embedded within the NUM. The aim is to create a permanent, operational and practical infrastructure to accelerate clinical trials in Germany. The infrastructure is closely linked to the specialist networks for infections, stroke and intensive care medicine, through which patients are recruited for trials. You will support the network coordination team in making the infrastructure internationally compatible and will be responsible for recruiting new platform trials for the NUM SN and its specialist networks.
Your responsibilities include, amongst other things,
- Developing scientific methods and concepts for the identification, evaluation and integration of international platform studies into the NUM’s Research Infrastructure
- Developing concepts and procedures for international integration
- Establishing the organisation’s position as an international partner

NUM Coordination Office: Assistant to the Network Coordination Team (m/f/d) Biobank Platform
On 1 July 2026, the NUM project ‘Biobank Platform for Germany’ (BPD) was launched. The aim of the platform is to establish a nationally coordinated Research Infrastructure that simplifies access to quality-assured biosamples and associated data for the scientific community and industry. To this end, existing biobanks are being linked, common processes and IT solutions established, and efficient access to biological samples, clinical data and analytical data – in compliance with data protection regulations – facilitated. To support the GBN team, we are seeking an assistant to join us at the earliest possible date to support the project leadership and management of the ‘Biobank Platform for Germany’ project in all administrative and financial matters.
The role involves, in particular:
- Appointment, meeting and committee management: coordinating the project leaders’ schedules, as well as preparing for and following up on meetings and network gatherings (invitations, agendas, minutes, tracking of decisions)
- Travel and event organisation: planning and arranging business trips both domestically and abroad, as well as providing organisational support for conferences and meetings
- Administrative support: office and secretarial tasks, correspondence (German/English), document management and data maintenance
- Contract and financial administration (support role): Preparing contracts and monitoring deadlines, as well as processing purchase orders, invoices and budget monitoring
- Communication and liaison: central point of contact for administrative enquiries and liaison with partners, service providers and the administration

NUM Coordination Office: Research Coordination (d/w/m) – Ethics, Law, Data Protection and Contract Management (Biobank Platform)
On 1 July 2026, the NUM project ‘Biobank Platform for Germany’ (BPD) was launched. The aim of the platform is to establish a nationally coordinated Research Infrastructure that simplifies access to quality-assured biological samples and associated data for the scientific community and industry. To this end, existing biobanks are being linked, common processes and IT solutions established, and efficient access to biological samples, clinical data and analytical data – in compliance with data protection regulations – facilitated. To support the GBN team, we are seeking, to start as soon as possible, a scientific coordinator working at the interface of ethics, law, data protection and contract management to provide independent expert support, monitoring and operational implementation of the work plan within the BPD collaborative project.
The scope of duties and responsibilities includes, in particular:
- Coordinating the work package on regulatory and contractual issues within the research consortium – from planning and managing the contributions of all stakeholders involved through to the timely achievement of milestones
- Identifying, analysing, harmonising and further developing existing governance models, model contracts, cooperation approaches and modular contract components for various cooperation models in both national and international research contexts
- Supporting the establishment of a structured regulatory and organisational framework for the exchange of biosamples and data
- Contributing to the development of templates and processes for applications regarding sample and data use (Use & Access), as well as information and consent documents
- Organisation, facilitation and follow-up of workshops with university and non-university partners, industry, and ethics and data protection stakeholders
- Coordination with internal departments (e.g. Legal Department, Data Protection Officer, Ethics Committee and Contract Management) as well as with external partners
- Documenting the results of work packages and supporting the reporting process to funding bodies

NUM Coordination Office: Senior Procurement and Contracting Officer (m/f/d)
You will be responsible for establishing the central Procurement and Contracting function for NUM’s future independent organisational structure, assuming both strategic and operational responsibility. The aim is to establish and ensure the long-term sustainability of cost-effective, legally compliant and service-oriented procurement processes.
During the set-up phase, you will develop structures, processes and standards for procurement and contract award. At the same time, you will be responsible for the operational implementation and management of procurement and contract award procedures. As the organisation continues to develop, you will oversee the handover of administrative tasks to support functions and manage external service providers.
