The AMG sWITCH-VO trial received the ‘green light’ to commence on 18 September. The study teams in Cologne and Regensburg are now beginning to recruit patients. The centres at LMU Munich, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, UKSH Campus Lübeck, Jena and Oldenburg have already commenced their work. Others will follow shortly.
sWITCH-VO is investigating whether, in cases of spondylodiscitis, an early switch from intravenous to oral antibiotic therapy after just 7 days – rather than the usual 14 – is just as effective and safe.
