Open invitation to join the specialist and organ-specific working group "Hygiene and Environmental Medicine"

The Network of University Medicine (NUM) creates cross-location infrastructures for joint research with the principle of "cooperation instead of competition". The specialist and organ-specific working groups (in German: FOSA) are a central component of the NUM community - clinicians and scientists volunteer in these groups to network, develop joint projects and support the NUM with their specialist expertise via the advisory board.

With the FOSA "Hygiene and Environmental Medicine", the 38th FOSA in the NUM is about to be founded. The initiators have formulated the following aspirations for the FOSA:

The FOSA "Hygiene and Environmental Medicine" networks experts from a central cross-sectional area in order to sustainably ensure hygiene, prevention and control of infections as well as patient safety. Through the structured exchange of knowledge and the pooling of expertise, it creates synergies in care, research and teaching. The aim is to promote innovative concepts, coordinate further education and training programmes and give the specialist area a stronger common voice for clinics, educational institutions and policymakers. In this way, the FOSA contributes to increasing the crisis resilience of the healthcare system, strengthening evidence-based research, increasing the attractiveness of the discipline and attracting more qualified professionals in the long term.
