NUM Insights successfully launched - to be continued in 2026

The third NUM Insights training event took place in December. With an average of 40 participants, the series has already been well received by NUM researchers. The subsequent brief evaluation emphasised the quality of the organisational and technical implementation and the benefits of the event for the participants' own work.

Previous events have presented the results and developments of various Reseach Infrastructures and use cases:

  • By Dr Wiebke Schirrmeister (Academic Medical Centre Magdeburg), the AKTIN platform and the application for research data were described using concrete examples.
  • Prof. Dr Sylvia Mechsner (Charité) and Prof. Dr Matthias May (Academic Medical Centre Erlangen) presented the RACOON Use Case FADEN - both the medical background of adenomyosis and the implementation of the specific scientific question using the RACOON Reseach Infrastructure; with initial results as well as challenges and possible solutions.
  • Prof Dr Alexander Dilthey explained the genomic infection chain tracing of SARS-CoV-2 using the example of the city of Düsseldorf as partial results of the GenSurv and MolTrax projects and their continuation in NUM-SAR.

We would like to thank all previous speakers for their valuable contributions to NUM and their willingness to present at the training event.

The next dates until April 2026 are already planned and further presentations until summer 2026 are also being arranged:

  • 08.01.2026, 17:00 - 17:45 COVIM - Development of an immunity platform - Prof. Dr Florian Klein (Academic Medical Centre Cologne)
