NUKLEUS Lighthouse app for project management in the NUM study network officially launched!

NUKLEUS NUM SN

The NUM study network was created to simplify the implementation of clinical and clinical-epidemiological studies, optimise processes and thus make them more efficient. A central element in the network's future service portfolio is the study portal, a superordinate interface that will contain a range of useful apps. One of these apps is Lighthouse: a platform for project management and quality assurance at the study sites - and thus an important building block for sustainably strengthening clinical research in Germany.

The app is a product of the cooperation between the NUM Clinical Epidemiology and Study Platform (NUKLEUS) and the NUM Study Network and was officially launched on 14 August 2020 after intensive technical development work. Since then, it has been available to all sites in the NUM study network and the specialist network for infections. Lighthouse provides researchers with a clear, data-based overview of their study activities, enabling them to recognise potential for improvement and make informed decisions.

What makes Lighthouse special?

  • Clear quality and performance indicators (QLIs): transparent, regularly updated key figures on site performance
  • Interactive data insights: objective, real-time overviews of recruitment and prescreening activities at the site - accessible to study staff and study coordinators
  • Future-oriented benchmarking: the QLIs will be integrated into the IMPACT model in future in order to prioritise sites in a targeted manner and further develop the network

The platform will be continuously developed and improved. A big thank you goes to all the technical and content developers who made Lighthouse possible!
