NATON: NAREG successfully launched

After a transitional phase lasting several years, the National Autopsy Registry NAREG of the NUM Platform for Autopsies and Pathology (NATON) has officially gone into regular operation. The participating centres can now record their first cases in the new system.

The centres now have the opportunity to comprehensively test the functions of the register over the coming weeks. Support is always available for queries at support-nareg@ukaachen.de.

With the launch of NAREG, the previous DeRegCOVID system, which was limited to the COVID-19 use case, will be replaced. NAREG now offers add-on modules for five use cases: Autopsies for lethal infections, investigation of fatal vaccine and drug side effects, autopsies for research into tumour diseases and metastasis pathways, research into sudden cardiac death and autopsies of intensive care deaths.

Those responsible would like to thank all the centres involved for their patience and commitment during the entire changeover phase.
