Dr Sandra Prescher heads Charité's Local Coordination Unit (LokS) and moved from the NUM Coordination Office to the Vice Dean's Office for Clinical Research on 1 March. This means that Charité's LokS is now directly linked to the faculty management under the leadership of Vice Dean Prof Dr Ulrich Kintscher. Previously, the coordinating role of the Charité meant that the LokS was linked to the Coordination Office. This has changed with the start of the transition of the NUM to an independent institution.
There is a LokS at each of the 37 academic medical centres participating in the NUM. They report directly to their respective Executive Board and act as a central point of contact for the Coordination Office for all matters relating to their respective location. They support the researchers at their location with administrative NUM activities, report directly to their respective Executive Board and act as the central contact persons at the locations for the Coordination Office.
