The NUM Platform for Autopsies and Pathology (NATON) is a Germany-wide association of university hospitals and autopsy centres that serves to gain systematic and standardised knowledge about pathogens from autopsies, especially in the event of a pandemic. The data generated is recorded and collated completely, comprehensively and promptly.

Networking NATON networks pathological, neuropathological and forensic institutes of German university hospitals as well as non-university partners. Such an autopsy network is unique worldwide.
NAREG The central data platform for the network is the National Autopsy Registry (NAREG), which is an extension of the nationwide registry of COVID-19 autopsies (DeRegCOVID).
NUM NATON is a joint project of the Network University Medicine and supports its motivation and goals.
