NUM Insights #12: A ‘Biobank Platform for Germany’ at NUM: From networked biobanks to a national Research Infrastructure

Bringing together the biobanks, which have hitherto been organised on a decentralised basis across more than 40 sites, into a single, joint biobank platform for Germany will significantly expand the possibilities for biomarker-based precision medicine – to the direct benefit of patients. This project implements a key objective of the coalition agreement aimed at strengthening prevention and personalised medicine: the establishment of a national biobank.

The presentation will outline the concept of the biobank platform for Germany.

NUM Insights is aimed primarily at doctors and researchers. In concise 45–60-minute sessions, new findings and current developments from the NUM sub-projects are presented. The training sessions take place at the start of each month via MS Teams and are accredited with 1 CME credit by the relevant regional medical association (LÄK).
NUM Insights is organised by members of the NUM’s Local Support Units (LokS).
